BlackLight MiniGolf voted on of the wrolds best mini golf courses. Interview with Julie on the opening of Glowgolf Christmas 2010. How did you come up with the BlackLight MiniGolf Idea? Well, I was looking for something that our whole family could run as a business . As I was googling unusual things to do, I came across Black Light Mini Golf and after more thorough research found that there was none in Australia at the time. I would like to add that Black Lights and decor do disorient you in the beginning, but thats half the fun in playing. So what do people ask when they ring you? Well, First I tell them that wearing anything white of florescent is a must when coming down to play. So apart from the phycodelic minigolf that you have happening, what else do you actually offer? We also have a Coffin Ride and the first of which I believe to be in the southern hemisphere. This is where we close you in a real (Unused) coffin and you go for a simulated ride in the back of a hearse before being taken to your grave, We also have very cheap soft drinks and other small toy activities along with a Slushi machine. So really you just cater to the childrens market. No, on the conterery, over 60% of our customers are actually between 18 and 35 years old and we also have a lot of corporate customers, in fact couples come to our Mini Golf a lot on Dates. Its very interactive and people look really good in the Black Lights as well as the fun aspect and team building. Our course is quite challenging for the space that its in and with 18 holes it can take anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour ro complete. We even have a feature hole of where you putt the ball into the back of a Kingswood Ute.
How much does it cost to play? Well its a very affordable $13.00 for Adults and children 16 years and under is only $10.00 with a family pass only $40.00, glowstick and soft drinks only cost a dollar and the coffin ride is only $10.00, its even cheaper if you do the coffin ride and the glowgolf at only $20.00. Is this a fun business to be in?
Its a great business to be in, no stress and best of all our son runs it during the week Do you have any other plans for the future? Well yes we do, but if we tell you we would have to kill you, no seriously there are clues scattered throughout our Glow Golf, but we are not letting on to what we have planned, all I can say is that we hope to set it up here at the Docklands as I think the place has a very good future and I really want to contribute to the area by attracting tourists and locals.
